Privacy policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
Runnr runs same-day errands across County Dublin. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Runnr website, the Runnr app (for customers), the Runnr Runner app (for runners) and Runnr Dispatch (for our own staff), why we collect it and what your rights are.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address (to send sign-in codes), name and mobile number.
- Errand details: pick-up and drop-off addresses, what you need done, your instructions, any photo you add to show what you need, the delivery photo your runner takes, receipts for shopping, messages between you and your runner, any star rating and comment you leave, and any help requests you send us with our replies.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep the amounts charged, refunded and paid out, and a Stripe reference.
- Runners only: your vehicle type, the area you work in, your Stripe payout account (Stripe collects your ID and bank details directly), and your phone's location only while you are online in the Runner app, so we can offer you nearby jobs and show customers where their runner is.
- Runners with a Runnr card: the address we post the card to, when you accepted the card terms, and a record of every card payment (amount, shop and time) so we can match it to the customer's shopping. Stripe issues the card and holds the card details.
- Waiting list: if you ask us to tell you when Runnr opens in your area, your email address and that area. We use it only to send that one email, and delete it when you delete your account or ask us to.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as time and error messages) kept by our hosting providers to run the service securely.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you asked for: matching errands with runners, taking payment, paying runners and showing live progress (performance of a contract).
- To keep financial records required by Irish tax law (legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud, resolve disputes and keep the service safe (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
- Your runner or customer: a runner sees the customer's name, addresses and instructions for the job they accept. A customer sees their runner's name, vehicle and live location during the errand. While an errand is in progress, the customer and the runner can message each other in the app and call each other through Runnr. Neither sees the other's phone number: Runnr connects the call. Messaging closes when the errand ends.
- Service providers who process data for us: Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in the EU), Stripe (payments, payouts and Runnr cards), Google Maps Platform (address search and distances), Netlify (website hosting), OpenStreetMap (map images) and Google Fonts (text styles).
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. Where they do, they use safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account details are kept until you delete your account.
- Records of payments and payouts are kept for 6 years, as required by Irish Revenue. When you delete your account, we remove your name, phone number, addresses, instructions, messages, comments and photos from these records.
- Runner locations are overwritten each time a new location comes in. Only the latest one is kept.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, and you can object to or restrict how we use it. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account → Delete my account) or by following the steps on our delete account page. To use any other right, email runrrforyou@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Age
Runnr is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app.
